Incoloy alloy 901 UNS N09901/W.Nr.2.4662 bar pipe, strip, bolt
Overview
Incoloy alloy 901(UNS N09901/W.Nr. 2.4662) is an age-hardenable Ni-Fe-Cr superalloy with significant additions of molybdenum, titanium and aluminum. The alloying route for this highperformance material may include combinations of vacuum induction melting, vacuum arc remelting and electroslag remelting, according to the final application and the customer’s specification. Typically, the alloy is used for gas turbine engine discs, shafts, rings, casings and seals with a maximum service temperature of around 600°C (1100°F).

Mechanical properties
Incoloy alloy 901 has high yield strength and tensile strength, and achieves good tensile properties at room temperature. During the tensile process, the stress-strain curve of the alloy shows typical metal plastic deformation characteristics, and has good ductility and toughness. In addition, Incoloy alloy 901 has excellent fatigue resistance and can withstand repeated stretching and compression.
Incoloy alloy 901 has good impact toughness and is able to withstand impact loads with good integrity. In the impact test, the impact absorption energy of the alloy is higher and the impact resistance is better. In addition, Incoloy alloy 901 has excellent fatigue shock resistance and can withstand the effects of repeated shocks.
Incoloy alloy 901 exhibits excellent creep properties at high temperatures, maintaining good strength and stability at prolonged high temperatures. In the creep test, the creep rate of the alloy is low and the creep resistance is good. In addition, Incoloy alloy 901 has excellent creep fatigue resistance and can withstand long-term cyclic creep.
Incoloy alloy 901 has excellent fatigue resistance and is able to maintain good integrity under alternating loads. In the fatigue test, the fatigue limit of the alloy is higher and the fatigue resistance is better. In addition, Incoloy alloy 901 has excellent fatigue crack propagation resistance and can withstand long-term alternating loads.
Incoloy alloy 901 exhibits excellent wear resistance and is resistant to the effects of friction and wear. In the friction test, the friction coefficient of the alloy is low and the wear resistance is good. In addition, Incoloy alloy 901 has excellent corrosion and wear resistance, maintaining good wear resistance in corrosive environments.
Corrosion Resistance
Incoloy alloy 901 is resistant to a range of acidic media such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid and nitric acid. In addition, it can also resist the corrosion of oxidizing media such as chloride and fluoride. This makes Incoloy alloy 901 widely used in chemical, petroleum, Marine and food processing. The high nickel content and high chromium content in this alloy provide good corrosion resistance. At the same time, aluminum, titanium and other elements in the alloy also play a role in enhancing corrosion resistance.
The corrosion resistance mechanism of Incoloy alloy 901 consists mainly of passivation and formation of oxide film. In the corrosive medium, a dense oxide film is formed on the surface of the alloy, which can effectively prevent the contact between the corrosive medium and the matrix, thus improving the corrosion resistance of the alloy.
